Pioneering aviator who helped open up the Canadian wilderness (1930s–40s); obtained private license (1933); gained professional qualifications (1935); was the 1st woman to fly a radio-equipped plane over the Rocky mountains; moved to Vancouver (1936) and set up the Canadian chapter of the 99s Club; later worked for Bridge River & Cariboo Airways, then Canadian Pacific Airways.
