Kenyan novelist. Born 1940 in Kakamega District, Kenya.
Received degrees in humanities and medicine in US and Uganda; trained as physician at University of Nairobi and became professor of public health; represented Kenya at UN decade of Women Conference (1985); works include The Boy in Between (1969), The High School Gent (1969), The Eighth Wife (1972), and Your Heart is My Altar (1980); also wrote biography of Margaret Owanyoni, Nurse With a Song (1978).
