Born on July 31, 1737, at St. James's Palace, London, England; died on March 23, 1813, in London; buried at St. George's Chapel, Windsor; daughter of Frederick Guelph, prince of Wales, and Augusta of Saxe-Gotha (1719–1772); sister of George III, king of England; married Charles Bevern, duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, on January 17, 1764; children: seven, including Augusta of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel (1764–1788, who married Frederick I, king of Wurttemberg); Caroline of Brunswick (1768–1821, who married George IV, king of England); Amelia Caroline Dorothea (1772–1773).
