Winston Smith and Julia struggle to find happiness through forbidden love in a dystopian totalitarian future ruled by omnipresent dictator Big Brother. Excellently dreary adaptation of the George Orwell novel was made only seven years after the novel's debut, and at the height of the noir age and Cold War, making it that much scarier to contemporary audiences. Seen today, it still captures the dread and paranoia of the novel. 90m/B VHS, DVD .
