BENNAHUM, Judith Chazin. American, b. 1937. Genres: Dance/Ballet, Fashion/Costume. Career: Professional ballet dancer, 1954-64; choreographer; University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, head of Dance Program, 1987-92, professor of theater and dance, 1988-. Santa Fe Opera, teacher of body movement; worked as a ballet dancer with Robert Joffrey, George Balanchine, and Antony Tudor at the Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company; danced on Broadway with Agnes de Mille. Publications: Dance in the Shadow of the Guillotine, 1988; The Ballets of Antony Tudor: Studies in Psyche and Satire, 1994; The Living Dance: An Anthology of Essays on Movement and Culture, 2003.
