Candidate for Parliament for Kinross and West Perthshire, 1970, and Hamilton, 1974; candidate for European Parliament for Mid Scotland and Fife, 1979; lecturer in history, University of Wanterre; professor of English literature, Ecole Active Bilingue, 1994-95.
