Clockstoppers ★★½ 2002 (PG)

Amusing kid fare has heroes Zak (Bradford) and Venezuelan exchange student Francesca (Garces) zipping around in speededup “hypertime” to rescue Zak's scientists dad Dr. Gibbs (Thomas) from timetraveling baddies, headed by corporate bigwig Henry Gates (Biehn). It seems the wristwatch/time machine Gibbs invented needs tweaking, so Gibbs and top grad student Dopler (Stewart) are kidnaped to fix the snag by the evil QT corporation, which wants to use the device to, what else, conquer the world. The teen duo must do their rescuing, however, before they all prematurely age in hypertime (one of the snags). No stranger to scifi, director Frakes (Riker on “Star Trek: Next Generation”) makes the most of the inherent FX. 94m/C VHS, DVD . US Jesse Bradford, French Stewart, Michael Biehn, Paula Garces, Robin Thomas, Julia Sweeney, Linda Kim, Garikayi Mutambirwa; D: Jonathan Frakes; W: Rob Hedden, J. David Stem, David N.
