Career: New Zealand Public Service, New Zealand, worked as cadet, clerk, and section head in education, audit, state advances, and rehabilitation departments, 1934-48; Auckland War Memorial Museum, Auckland, New Zealand, botanist, 1948-68, assistant director, 1968-71; Science teacher at a high school in Te Kao, New Zealand, 1971-75. Washington University, St. Louis, MO, university fellow and research assistant at Missouri Botanic Garden, 1951-53; Auckland Cancer Research Unit, collected plant samples in New Zealand and the Pacific, including New Guinea, 1953-58.
