DOA: Dead or Alive
DOA: Dead or Alive ★★ 2006 (PG-13)
Female-centric martial arts actioner, based on a videogame, follows five woman fighters battling to the death on an island. Okay, not the most original concept in the world, but as a straightforward action-and-chicks, “turn-off-the-brain” time waster, you could do a lot worse. Hey, at least Uwe Boll didn't direct it. Corey Yuen, who knows a thing or two about staging martial arts action, did. And it does look like everyone's having a good time. 87m/C DVD .
