Dracula 2000
Dracula 2000 ★ Wes Craven Presents: Dracula 2000 2000 (R)
Dracula finds his way to New Orleans to terrorize the modern world in this adaptation of the classic vampire tale that borrows freewheelingly from many supernatural legends. Butler plays Dracula well enough, but doesn't add anything memorable to a character that's been done, redone, and overdone so many times, while Plummer struggles to make the most of a bad situation. Horror fans will no doubt enjoy the gore, but the overall clumsiness is hard to take by anyone's standards. Presented by Wes Craven, but directed by Patrick Lussier, Craven's editor on many films, including the “Scream” trilogy. 98m/C VHS, DVD . Jonny Lee Miller, Justine Waddell, Gerard Butler, Colleen (Ann) Fitzpatrick, Jennifer Esposito, Danny Masterson, Jeri Ryan, Lochlyn Munro, Sean Patrick Thomas, Omar Epps, Christopher Plummer; D: Patrick Lussier; W: Joel Soisson; C: Peter Pay; M: Marco Beltrami.
