Driven ★★ 2001 (PG-13)
Hotshot rookie racer Jimmy Bly (Pardue) is slipping in the rankings thanks to pressure from his promoter brother (Leonard) and his ongoing affair with Sophia (Warren), the girlfriend of top rival Beau (Schweiger). Owner Henry (Reynolds) brings in former hotshot Joe Tanto (Stallone) to straighten the kid out, but Joe has his own demons, including a horrific, nearlydeadly crash, an ex married to his arch-rival (De la Fuente), and a hovering female reporter (Edwards). There's a lot going on, what with all the CGI-created car crashes, the bed-hopping, and the tempers flaring, but it's all over the road, so as not to tax anyone's attention span. It doesn't get anywhere, but at least it gets there fast. 117m/ C VHS, DVD .
