The Brothers Quay's first live-action feature is a surreal night-mareish fairytale based on the 1905 novel “Jakob von Gunten” by Robert Waiser. Jakob (Rylance) arrives at the secluded Institute Benjamenta, which is run by Lisa (Krige) and her brother Johannes (John), to train as a servant.
