KARANIKAS, Alexander. American, b. 1916. Genres: Poetry, Literary criticism and history. Career: Emeritus Professor of English, University of Illinois at Chicago Circle, since 1982 (joined faculty, 1954). Instructor in English, Kendall College, 1952-53, and Northwestern University, 1953-54, both Evanston, Illinois.
