Nine Months
Nine Months ★★½ 1995 (PG-13)
Happily single Samuel (Grant) gets girlfriend Rebecca (Moore) pregnant and promptly wigs out. He makes amends to the lovely Rebecca, they marry, and true to writer/director Columbus' style, live happily ever after. Bachelor pal Sean (Goldblum) and an expectant couple (Arnold and Cusack) with three kids round out the cast, with Williams offering his usual manic flair as a Russian obstetrician, improvising his scenes with glee. Grant's knack for clumsy befuddlement fits well with the warm, fuzzy style of Columbus. “Nine” doesn't go out on any limbs, but is a pleasant diversion anyway. Remake of the French film “Neuf Mois.” 103m/C VHS, DVD . Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, Jeff Goldblum, Robin Williams, Alexa Vega, Ashley Johnson, Mia Cottet, Kristen Davis, Joey Simmrin; D: Chris Columbus; W: Chris Columbus; C: Donald McAlpine; M: Hans Zimmer.
