Film director in Denmark, 1955-57; critic and columnist in Copenhagen, Denmark, for newspapers Information, 1955-57, Politiken (daily), 1959-70, and NB!; coeditor of the Danish literary magazine Vindrosen, c. 1959-64; Gyldendal Publishers, Copenhagen, literary director, 1984-91. Member of board of directors of Information, 1991, and Gyldendal Publishers, 1992. Owner of a gourmet restaurant in Copenhagen, 1976-82.
