Roger Dodger ★★★ 2002 (R)
Roger (Scott) is a slightly sleazy ad copywriter who believes he can talk his way into or out of anything, especially when it comes to women. After he's dumped by boss/girlfriend Joyce (Rossellini), however, he realizes that in his attempt to con everyone else, he has cheated himself. While his relationship with Joyce is turning unsavory, his nephew Nick (Eisenberg) arrives unannounced and eager to learn the art of picking up women. Roger tutors Nick in his cynical methods, but the hotties respond more positively to Nick's innocence and honesty than to Roger's bag of tricks. Scott's performance adds a touch of warmth and compassion to a character who could have been totally odious. 104m/ C VHS, DVD .
