Street Gun
Street Gun ★ 1996
Small-time hood Joe Webster (Pagel) pines for some sense of accomplishment in his life. A tip from his hustler-friend lands Joe in the good graces of the local crime boss. As he ingratiates himself into his new malevolent world, the shadows yield betrayal, murder, and no place to hide. Potentially interesting premise is botched, with cowriter/director Milloy aping John Woo gun pyrotechnics and “Reservoir Dogs” attitude (a Woo rip-off once removed). There is also the thorny dilemma of rooting for a hero who aspires to be an exceptional thug. 92m/C DVD . Justin Pagel, Scott Cooke, Michael Egan; D: Travis Milloy; W: Travis Milloy, Timothy Lee; C: Joel King.
