WOOD, Don. American, b. 1945. Genres: Children's fiction, Illustrations. Career: Editorial and magazine illustrator, graphic designer, and author and illustrator of children's books, 1976-. Blue Moon (book and import shop), co-owner and operator, 1970-75; worked as a logger, sail maker, and substitute art teacher; has executed paintings for cable television series Faerie Tale Theatre. Artwork has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC, 1982, and at the Annual Exhibition of the Society of Illustrators, NYC, 1986, 1991. Publications: CHILDREN'S BOOKS (self-illustrated with A. Wood): Balloonia & Magic Shoe Laces, 1966; The Big Hungry Bear, 1984; The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear (play), 1990; Piggies, 1991; Bright and Early Thursday Evening, 1996; Jubal's Wish, 2000.
