Antonelli, Abundio
Antonelli, Abundio, Italian composer; b. Fabrica, near Viterbo, date unknown; d. probably in Rome, c. 1629. He was maestro di cappella at St. John Lateran in Rome (1611–13) and at Benevento Cathedral (1614–15). In his Gaue virgo gloriosa, a concerted dialogue, and Abraham, tolle filium tuum, a kind of cantata, he anticipated the oratorio. His sacred and secular vocal works were publ. in Rome (1614–29).
