Arnold, Byron
Arnold, Byron, American composer and teacher; b. Vancouver, Wash., Aug. 15, 1901; d. Oscoda, Mich., Dec. 25, 1971. He studied with Rogers and Hanson at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., and then was mainly active as a teacher. He wrote a witty symphonic suite, 5 Incapacitated Preludes (Rochester, N.Y., April 19, 1937), portraying a serious neurological ailment affecting sight, hearing, and muscular structures.
