Auriacombe, Louis
Auriacombe, Louis, French conductor; b. Pau, Feb. 22, 1917; d. Toulouse, March 12, 1982. He studied in Pau, took courses in violin, singing, and harmony at the Toulouse Cons., and received training in conducting from Markevitch in Salzburg. He was founder-conductor of the Toulouse Chamber Orch. (1953–71), which he led in performances of early and 20th- century scores.
