Bellinzani, Paolo Benedetto
Bellinzani, Paolo Benedetto, Italian composer;b. probably in Mantua, c. 1690; d. Recanati, Feb. 25, 1757. He became maestro di cappella at the Udine Cathedral in 1715. He received the benefice of S. Erma-cora, and subsequently was made a censor in Ferrara. He went to Pergola in 1718. In 1721 he resigned from his position in Udine, and in 1724 became maestro di cappella at the Pesaro Cathedral. He was subsequently maestro di cappella at the Urbino Cathedral (1730–34) and the Ferrara Cathedral (1734–35). From 1737 until his death he was maestro di cappella at the Recanati Cathedral. He composed both sacred and secular vocal works of excellent quality, and also wrote instrumental sonatas.
