Buczek, Barbara , Polish composer; b. Kraków, Jan. 9, 1940; d. there, Jan. 21, 1993. She spent her entire career in Kraków, where she studied piano with Kazimierz Mirski and was a student of Maria Bilinska-Riegerowa at the music school. She then pursued training with Ludwik Stefanski (piano diploma, 1965) and Boguslaw Schaeffer (composition diploma, 1974) at the Academy of Music, where she later served on the faculty.
