Burritt, Lloyd (Edmund)
Burritt, Lloyd (Edmund), Canadian composer; b. Vancouver, June 7, 1940. He was a student of Coulthard (composition) and Hultberg (electronic music) at the Univ. of British Columbia (B.M., 1963; M.M., 1968); he also took courses in composition with Jacob and Howells at the Royal Coll. of Music in London (1963–65) and in conducting with Schuller, Leinsdorf, Bernstein, and Dee Hiatt at the Berkshire Music Center in Tanglewood (summers, 1965-66). His works follow an expressionist path.
