Coltellini, Celeste

Coltellini, Celeste, Italian mezzo-soprano; b. Livorno, Nov. 26, 1760; d. Capodimonte, near Naples, July 28, 1828. She studied with G.B. Mancini and G. Manzuoli, then sang at La Scala in Milan (1780). In 1781 she became a member of the Teatro dei Fiorentini in Naples. She was well known for her interpretations of roles in operas by Mozart, Paisiello, and Cimarosa.
