Coquard, Arthur (-Joseph)
Coquard, Arthur (-Joseph) , French writer on music and composer; b. Paris, May 26, 1846; d. Noirmoutier, Vendée, Aug. 20, 1910. He studied with Franck (1862–66), then practiced law. He also was a music critic for Le Monde and Echo de Paris. In addition to composing original works for the stage, he completed Lalo’s opera La Jacquerie (Monte Carlo, March 9, 1895).
