Daniel-Lesur, (Jean) Yves (b Paris, 1908; d Paris, 2002). Fr. composer and organist. Ass. org. Ste Clotilde 1927–37. In 1937 founded Jeune France group with Messiaen, Jolivet, and Baudrier. Prof. of counterpoint Schola Cantorum 1935–64, dir. 1957–64. On mus. staff Fr. radio from 1939, mus. dir. Fr. TV (ORTF) from 1968. Many comps. incl. La vie intérieure, org. (1932); ballet (with Jolivet), L'Infante et le monstre (1938); operas Andrea del Sarto (1968), Ondine (1982), and La reine morte (1987); dialogue Dans la nuit, sop., bar., orch. (1988); Le voyage d'automne, vv., orch. (1990); and Permis de séjour, vv., orch. (1990).
