De Jong, Conrad J(ohn)

De Jong, Conrad J(ohn) , American composer; b. Hull, Iowa, Jan. 13, 1934. He studied trumpet at North Tex. State Univ. in Denton, majoring in music education (B.M.Ed., 1954), and later studied composition with Heiden at Ind. Univ. in Bloomington (M.M., 1959); subsequently took lessons with Ton de Leeuw in Amsterdam (1969). He was appointed to the music faculty of the Univ. of Wise, in River Falls in 1959.
