Denzler, Robert , Swiss conductor and composer;b. Zürich, March 19, 1892; d. there, Aug. 25, 1972. He studied with Andreae at the Zürich Cons., and after further training in Cologne, he was an assistant at Bayreuth. He was music director of the Lucerne (1912–15) and then of the Zürich Opéra (1915–27); after serving as first conductor of the Berlin Stadtische Oper (1927–32), he was again music director of the Zürich Opéra (1934–17). He composed a Piano Concerto, suites, and songs.
