Duvernoy, Henri-Louis-Charles
Duvernoy, Henri-Louis-Charles, French composer and teacher, son of Charles Duvernoy; b. Paris, Nov. 16, 1820; d. there, Jan. 1906. He was a pupil of Halevy and Zimmerman at the Paris Cons, where, in 1848, he was appointed a prof. He publ. (with Kuhn) Nouveaux choix de psaumes et de cantiques (1848), Solfege des chanteurs (1855), Solfege a changements de clefs (1857), and Solfege artistique (1860); also some 100 light piano pieces.
