Ferchault, Guy

Ferchault, Guy, French musicologist; b. Mer, Loireet-Cher, Aug. 16, 1904; d. Paris, Nov. 14, 1980. He studied with C. Lalo, Pirro, and Masson at the Cons, and philosophy at the Sorbonne (graduated, 1942) in Paris. He held teaching positions in music education in Paris, Orleans (1941), Poitiers (1942–49), Tours (1948–51), and Roubaix (from 1952). From 1943 to 1967 he was also a prof, of music history at the Cons. Regional de Musique in Versailles, and then at St. Maur.
