Fiske, Roger (Elwyn)

Fiske, Roger (Elwyn), English musicologist; b. Surbiton, Sept. 11, 1910; d. London, July 22, 1987. He attended Wadham Coll., Oxford (B.A. in English, 1932), then received instruction in composition from Herbert Howells at the Royal Coll. of Music in London before completing his education at the Univ. of Oxford (D.M.A., 1937). He was active as a BBC broadcaster (1939–59), and served as general ed. of the Eulenburg miniature scores (1968–75).
