Flackton, William, English organist and composer; b. Canterbury (baptized), March 1709; d. there, Jan. 5, 1798. He was a bookseller and stationer by trade, but he also served as organist at Faversham (1735–52). He composed 6 sonatas for 2 violins and cello or harpsichord (1758), 6 solos for cello or viola and cello or harpsichord (1770), 6 overtures adapted for harpsichord or piano (1771), 2 solos, 1 for cello and 1 for viola (1776), church music, etc.
