Förster, Josef, Bohemian organist, teacher, and composer, father of Josef Bohuslav Foerster; b. Osojnitz, Feb. 22, 1833; d. Prague, Jan. 3, 1907. He was organist in several churches in Prague, and a prof. of theory at the Prague Cons. He wrote organ pieces, church music, and a treatise on harmony
