Fusz, János, Hungarian composer; b. Tolna, Dec. 16, 1777; d. Buda, March 9, 1819. He began his training in Baja. After teaching piano in Pressburg, he went to Vienna to study with Albrechtsberger, where he was befriended by Haydn; in 1817 he settled in Buda. He composed an opera, Watwort, music for Schiller’s Die Braut von Messina (1811), chamber music, piano pieces, and lieder.
