Gaul Alfred (Robert)
Gaul, Alfred (Robert), English organist, teacher, and composer; b. Norwich, April 30, 1837; d. Birmingham, Sept. 13, 1913. He studied with Z. Buck in Norwich and completed his education at Cambridge (Mus.Bac., 1863). He then was active in various provincial English cities. He wrote an oratorio, Hezekiah (1861), several sacred cantatas, and many secular vocal works.
