Giltay, Berend

Giltay, Berend, Dutch composer; b. Hilversum, June 15, 1910; d. Utrecht, March 21, 1975. He studied violin and viola with Dick Waleson and composition with Badings. He was a violinist with the Hilversum Radio Phil, and with various other Dutch orchs. From 1963 to 1966 he attended courses in electronic music at the Univ. of Utrecht and worked in Bilthoven at the Gaudeamus electronic studio.
