Hegner, Otto
Hegner, Otto, Swiss pianist; b. Basel, Nov. 18, 1876; d. Hamburg, Feb. 22, 1907. He studied piano with Eugene d’Albert. At the age of 12, he made an American tour and was hailed as one of the most phenomenal young pianists. His early death, at the age of 30, cut short his brilliant career. His sister Anna Hegner (b. Basel, March 1, 1881; d. there, Feb. 3, 1963) was a violinist.
