Hochberg, Hans Heinrich, XIV, Bolko Graf von
Hochberg, Hans Heinrich, XIV, Bolko Graf von, German theater Intendant and composer; b. Fürstenstein Castle, Silesia, Jan. 23, 1843; d. near Salzbrunn, Dec. 1, 1926. He established and for several years maintained the Hochberg Quartet, founded the Silesian music festivals (1878), and was general Intendant of the Berlin Royal Theater (1886–1902). His works include the operas Claudine von Villabella (Schwerin, 1864) and Die Falkensteiner (Hannover, 1876; rewritten as Der Wärwolf, Dresden, 1881), 3 syms., 3 string quartets, 2 piano trios, a Concerto for Piano, songs, and choruses.
