Budapest Acad. 1919–34. Led str. qt. Pupils incl. Szigeti, Telmányi, and Jelly d'Arányi. Comp. 8 operas, incl. Der Geigenmacher von Cremona (1893) and Anna Karenina (1915); 4 syms., incl. Dante Symphony (ch.); 4 vn. concs.; chamber mus., etc. Ed. posth. works of his friend Vieuxtemps.
