Huszka, Jenõ
Huszka, Jenõ, Hungarian composer; b. Szeged, April 24, 1875; d. Budapest, Feb. 2, 1960. He was a student of Hubay (violin) and Koessler (composition) at the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest. At age 24, he launched a career as a composer for the theater in Budapest. His first operetta, Bob herceg (Dec. 12, 1902), was followed by such successful scores as Aranyvirag (Nov. 6, 1903), GUI Baba (Dec. 9, 1905), Rébusz barò (Nov. 20, 1909), Nemtudomka (Jan. 14, 1914), Lilt baróno (March 7, 1919), Maria föhadnagy (Sept. 23, 1942), and Szabadsag, szerelem (April 1, 1955).
