Jadlowker, Hermann (b Riga, 1877; d Tel Aviv, 1953). Latvian tenor. Début Cologne 1897 (Gomez in Kreutzer's Das Nachtlager in Granada). After singing in Stettin and Riga, sang with Karlsruhe Opera 1906–10 and at Kroll Opera from 1907. Berlin Court Opera 1909. NY Met 1910–12. Created Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos (Stuttgart 1912). Berlin State Opera 1922–3. Returned to Riga as chief cantor of synagogue 1929–38 and taught at Riga Cons. 1936–8. Emigrated to Palestine 1938 and taught in Tel Aviv.
