Kallstenius, Edvin
Kallstenius, Edvin, Swedish composer; b. Filipstad, Aug. 29, 1881; d. Danderyd, Nov. 22, 1967. He studied science at the Univ. of Lund (1898–1903) and music at the Leipzig Cons. (1903–07), and then was active as a music critic in Stockholm. He also was a music librarian for the Swedish Radio (1928–46). In his early works, he followed the Romantic traditions of Scandinavian music; later turned to advanced modern techniques, including explicit application of dodecaphonic configurations.
