Khadzhiev, Parashkev

Khadzhiev, Parashkev, Bulgarian composer; b. Sofia, April 14, 1912. He studied composition with Vladigerov and piano with Stoyanov at the Sofia Cons., graduating in 1936. He then went to Vienna, where he studied composition with Marx (1937), and to Berlin, where he took a course in composition with Thiessen at the Hochschule für Musik (1938–40). Returning to Bulgaria, he occupied various teaching positions.
