Kindermann, August

German bass-baritona; b. Potsdam, Feb. 6, 1817; d. Munich, March 6, 1891. He sang in the chorus of the Berlin Royal Opera, then appeared at the Leipzig theater (1839–46). In 1846 he became a member of the Munich Court Opera, and remained on its roster until his death. He also sang at Bayreuth, where he created the role of Titurel in Parsifal (1882).
