Koetsier, Jan
Koetsier, Jan, Dutch conductor and composer; b. Amsterdam, Aug. 14, 1911. He studied in Berlin at the Stern Cons. (1924–26) and at the Hochschule für Musik (1927–34). He was a conductor in Lübeck and Berlin, and then in The Hague (1941–42). After serving as 2nd conductor of the Concertgebouw Orch. in Amsterdam (1942–49), he again conducted in The Hague (1949–50). He was a conductor with the Bavarian Radio Sym. Orch. in Munich (1950–66), and then a prof, at the Munich Staatliche Hochschule für Musik (1966–76).
