KÓrodi, Andras

KÓrodi, Andras, Hungarian conductor; b. Budapest, May 24, 1922; d. Treviso, Sept. 17, 1986. He studied with Ferencsik (conducting) and Lajtha (composition) at the Budapest Academy of Music, where he later taught conducting (1957–82). He was a conductor (1946–63) and principal conductor (1963–86) of the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, where he led the premieres of many contemporary scores; was also conductor of the Budapest Phil. (1967–86).
