Laskovsky, Ivan Fyodorovich
Laskovsky, Ivan Fyodorovich, Russian pianist and composer; b. St. Petersburg, 1799; d. there, 1855. After serving as a military officer, he was employed in the war office (1817–32). He studied with John Field and became an accomplished pianist. Among his stylish works for piano were mazurkas, waltzes, and variations. He also composed 3 string quartets.
