Leduc, Jacques
Leduc, Jacques, Belgian composer and teacher; b. Jette, near Brussels, March 1, 1932. He studied music at the Royal Cons, in Brussels and privately with Jean Absil. He was director of the Uccle Academy of Music (1962–83). He was made a prof, of harmony (1968), of counterpoint (1972), and of fugue (1979) at the Royal Cons, in Brussels; was also director of the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth (from 1976). He was made a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Fine Arts of Belgium in 1983.
