Lefébure, Yvonne
Lefébure, Yvonne, French pianist and teacher; b. Ermont, Seine-et-Oise, June 29, 1898; d. Paris, Jan. 23, 1986. She began piano studies at an early age and won the “prix de petits prodigés” of the Paris Cons., where she took courses with Emmanuel, Georges Caussade, and Widor and won 6 premiers prix in all. She also studied privately with Cortot. She taught at the École Normale de Musique in Paris (from 1924), and was on the faculty of the Paris Cons. (1952–67). She toured widely as a soloist and recitalist.
